How to build a raised garden bed, the V-gloo way
The V-gloo raised bed garden kit is quick and easy to construct or dismantle - no tools are required and it can be done in a matter of minutes!
Each pack contains: 4 x 1200mm bed sections, 4 x 300mm pins, 2 x fibre glass poles, 1 x mini domed greenhouse cover, 1 x liner, 12 x tent pegs.
Start by choosing a flat piece of land to erect the V-gloo on.
With the flat face of the bed sections forming the internal walls of the raised bed, place the 4 pieces in a square shape, interlocking them. Make sure that all sections are the same way up (they should all have the depression at the top).
You will need to consider the amount of light your raised bed will receive in your chosen location, as this might affect the crops you want to grow.
Using the 4 pins place a pin through the hole in each corner of the bed and push it through so that the pin passes through the 2 sections. This locks the pieces into place and they will not pull apart.
To fit the greenhouse cover, first fix the 2 fibre-glass poles together by clicking them into place to form 2 long poles.
Place the poles through the pins in each corner of the bed so that they lie across the diagonal and form the dome shape.
If you are using your V-gloo on a patio, decking or a balcony, you might want to place the liner in at this stage. Simply place it with the side lifted up against the walls of the bed. Fill it with soil and push it against the liner walls to prevent them falling flat.
Unfold the cover and place it over the fibreglass poles, keeping the seams at each corner and over the fibreglass poles. Pull the cover down over the exterior of the bed so that the skirt of the cover is flat to the ground.
Open up one of the zips and go inside to tie the tabs to the fibreglass poles. There are 2 tabs on each pole and one that holds the crossing poles onto the roof of the cover. Re-zip the cover.
Lay out the skirt of the cover so that it is flat to the ground and using the tent pegs put one through each eyelet to secure the cover to the ground.
Before fitting the cover, it is a good idea to fill your bed with soil at this stage. Your choice of growing medium will be determined by the crops you wish to grow. For general purpose growing incorporate some of your existing soil mixed with good quality compost which is nutrient rich. You can also add sand or gravel depending on the soil texture and growing needs of plants.
Complete and ready to grow.

Remember - your V-gloo system is very flexible, you can take down the cover once the weather is suitable for your plants.
To make a longer raised bed you can use additional sections, e.g. make a 1.2 x 2.4 metre bed by joining the sections at 180° rather than at 90°. To make a higher bed, use four additional sections and place them on top of the existing bed and replace the 300mm pins with 600mm pins. The V-gloo cover can still be used on higher beds.
